Sprouts have just begun growing into the world. They are full of curiosity, wonder, and joy. At Kitsap Life Academy, these qualities are nurtured and given plenty of opportunities to grow.
Outdoors everyday, the children explore, work, and play while building foundations for language arts, math, and life sciences, learning practical life skills, and developing healthy social-emotional skills. Inspired by Waldorf and Montessori philosophies and emphasizing outdoor education, the Sprouts program has the best of it all.
Rhythm
Young children thrive with the security of a predictable daily rhythm. When children feel secure, they are able to venture forward into the day and learn and create. A typical day includes self- directed play, group games and activities, circle time with seasonal songs and verses, farm chores, snack and lunch time, nature walk, and story time.
Hands-on activities
Young children learn through imitation and by engaging in hands-on activities. Self-directed and teacher-led activities throughout the day engage your child’s senses, develop fine and gross motor skills, build foundations for academic learning, and inspire creativity. Activities include nature crafts, clay modeling, drawing, painting, fort building, outdoor cooking, and creating in the mud kitchen.
Practical Skills
Meaningful work on the farm provides children with countless opportunities for learning practical skills and caring for their environment. With guidance, children learn to independently care for themselves, particularly through managing their outerwear and footwear, being in charge of their snack and lunch, and attending to personal needs.
Social Skills
Working and playing together gives children opportunities to practice valuable social skills including resolving conflicts, delayed gratification, self-regulation, and collaboration.
Imagination and Play
Creative, free play is fundamental for child development and is an integral part of the Sprouts program. Through play, children learn about and assimilate the world around them. Self-directed play develops vivid imaginations which lay the foundation for creative thinking and strong executive function skills. Furthermore, play is fun!!

($500/month if paid in 10 monthly installments)
