Is this a school?

No, Kitsap Life Academy supports your homeschool experience. We help point you in a direction that fits for your child and your family. We offer guidance and reassurance as you find your way. For children 8 and up, our families file a Declaration of Intent with the state that their child is homeschooled.

What is an enrichment program?

We offer 2 in person options. A morning program with a small group of children doing seasonal studies, math, language, science and outdoor education learning. And an afternoon program of electives. But families are still considered homeschool families. We work closely with families to support their homeschool experience.

Does my child have to be enrolled in the morning to do the afternoon electives?

Absolutely not. We are a support program for the greater homeschool community and offer electives for all children.

Is lunch part of the morning program?

Yes, please send your child with a sack lunch and a little extra for snack if needed.

Is this an outdoor program?

Yes, we have access to covered spaces to provide shelter. However they each have an open side that is still exposed to the elements.

Is there an option for financial aid?

We want this program to be accessible to a wide range of families so we have kept the cost much lower than most private schools. Please reach out if this is still out of your reach.

Do you offer a discount for siblings?

Yes, 10% off for each additional child.

Do you cancel classes for any reason?

Generally KLA will follow the North Kitsap School closures as announced on most major radio and TV stations with the following considerations:

• If North Kitsap Schools are closed KLA will be closed. 

• If North Kitsap Schools are Delayed KLA will be closed for the morning and afternoon electives will still run.

• If snow begins during class time and conditions are expected to deteriorate, parents will be called and asked to pick up their children early.

Due to the outdoor nature of our program we may cancel if air quality is poor or weather is unsafe.
